Are you a top 10% man... statistically speaking?

The actual stats of a top 10% man.

All over the internet, I’ve heard the sentiment, “Women only date the top 10% of men, so if you’re not in the top 10%, you’re screwed,” but what actually is a top 10% man?

People talk about the top 10% like it’s something every man should strive to achieve, but what are the standards for reaching it? Is it possible for everyone to achieve? Are you already in it without even knowing it? Well, let’s find out…

The stats of a top 10% man.

First, let’s start with the categories. Which areas do women even care about? What categories should you strive to be in the top 10% of?

To simplify the process of defining a top 10% man, I’ve separated the traits into two categories:

  1. Physical Attributes

  2. Non-Physical Attributes(Wealth, Status, Intelligence)

Within these two categories, there are multiple subcategories that make up the total score.

Physical Attributes

Here are some attributes and the top 10% thresholds for men in the United States:

  1. Height

To be in the top 10% of height in America, you need to be exactly 6’11/8 in the middle of the day, barefoot.

  2. Leanness%

To be in the top 10% of leanness in America, you need to have 12% body fat or less.

  3. Muscle Mass

To be in the top 10% of muscle mass in America, you need an FFMI(calculator here) of 22 or higher.

  4. Strength

To be in the top 10% strength among men in America, you need to bench press 225lbs or more.

  5. Penis Size

To have a penis in the top 10% of size in America, you need to be 6.3” or longer(that’s not including the curve).

Now to be in the top 10% of physical attributes overall you don’t need to be in the top 10% of all of them. To keep it simple if you’re top 10% in 3 or more you’re probably in the top 10% overall.

Non-Physical Attributes(Wealth, Status, Intelligence)

Since it’s not all about looks and physical stature, let’s see if you crack the top 10% of men in the non-physical factors.

  1. Income
As I discussed in my article on the wealth-youth dichotomy, the expectations for your income change as you age. Here are the top 10% thresholds for pre-tax annual income for each age group of men in America:

    Ages 18-24: $90,000 or higher

    Ages 25-34: $149,500 or higher
    Ages 35-44: $248,600 or higher

    Ages 45-54: $310,200 or higher

    Ages 55-64: $250,000 or higher

    Ages 65+: $188,000 or higher

  2. Networth

The same age caveat applies to net worth, so here is the top 10% threshold for net worth for each age group of men in America:

    Ages 18-24: $184,500 or more

    Ages 25-34: $296,800 or more
    Ages 35-44: $538,800 or more

    Ages 45-54: $1,971,500 or more

    Ages 55-64: $2,672,200 or more

    Ages 65+: $2,961,100 or more

  3. Social Media Status

To be in the top 10% of Instagram followers, you need 7,500 followers or more.

  4. Intelligence

To be in the top 10% of male intelligence in America, you need an IQ of 120 or higher(Here is the best free IQ Test I could find online, definitely not 100% accurate but it’s an idea).

  5. Education

To have a top 10% education level as a man in America, you need to have a master's degree or higher level of education.

Again, to be in the top 10% overall, you don’t need to be in the top 10% of everything. You can reasonably assume you’re in the top 10% of men if you’re in the top 10% of 3 or more attributes.

Overall

I haven’t yet put together a formula or software that can evaluate your individual Sexual Market Value (SMV) percentile among the U.S. population (I’m working on it), but there is a simple setup to approximate whether you’re in the top 10% or not.

If you are within the top 10% of 6 out of the 10 attributes mentioned in this article, you’re likely a top 10% man overall. Obviously, this isn’t perfect, and there are more complex ways of calculating this that I’ll explore in the future, but for now, I think this is solid.

So…

Are you in the top 10% of men... statistically speaking?

Do you meet the top 10% threshold in 6 out of the 10 listed attributes?
