The wealth-youth dichotomy...
The years 2021 and I’ve just turned 20 years old. I check my banking app and it reads 80$. It’s the 3rd of the month and I have no idea how I’m going to make rent by the end of it. Despite this I have a girl coming over for a "business meeting” in an hour and 2 more dates lined up over the next few days. How was this possible? How was I so broke and yet doing so well with women? Well it starts with this…
The Wealth-Youth Dichotomy.
This is a chart displaying income percentiles by age in Canada(this trend holds true across the world). As you can see, as people age they make more money.
This is the wealth-youth dichotomy. Wealth and youth are inversely correlated, as youth falls, wealth rises(in general).
The thing is, when you’re young, not having any money is fine. No one expects you to, including women, and therefore it doesn’t impact your attractiveness, which explains why I was able to do so well with women despite technically being in poverty. Youth brings you the advantage of low expectations, as you age this will change though…
The Importance of Wealth as You Age
The chart above is displaying the importance of income verse physical attractiveness in online dating(The best place to get data on the dating market). As you can see, although they both makeup the two most important factors of your attractiveness, being poor appears to be more detrimental than being ugly. The thing is, the chart above is from a study where the median male and female age was 35.
Wealth becomes more and more important as you age, even surpassing looks as you approach your mid 30s. It’s not that looks stop being important, they’re still a close second, but they take up a smaller percentage of your mate value as wealth takes up a larger percentage.
As an older man you’re more likely to have money, therefore everyone expects you to, therefore whether you have money or not is a huge factor in your perceived mate value.
The Key Take Aways
In a way, youth makes up for wealth in the dating market. The younger you are the less girls care about how much money you make, so if you’re in you’re early 20s or younger don’t get so in your head about how much money you have. Girls don’t care, your looks are far more important.
Wealth becomes a critical component of your mate value as you age, which should give hope to any intelligent, hardworking individuals struggling with women in their teens/20s. If you do make it and the money does start rolling in, it’s going to significantly help your chances with women as you age, although that benefit is largely held with older women(25+).
Hopefully you got something out of this and I’ll see you next Thursday.
