Who's Happier On Average, Married Men Or Single Guys?
The answer might surprise you

I hear men say "what if I end up in an unhappy marriage" a lot, but overall your odds of unhappiness are much lower if you're married than if you're single.
You have the lowest odds of unhappiness if you have kids and are married, which is why it's a life goal of mine, and most others.
The worst case scenario is having kids outside of marriage though, making the idea of "I don't need marriage to have kids" a little silly. You don't need it, but the odds it goes wrong(breakup/separation) are way higher, and will tank your chances at a very happy life on average.
The push back against marriage in recent years has always seemed weird and artificial to me(giving big propaganda to weaken the population vibes).
The average outcome of marriage is a happier life, and most peoples real life experience supports that.
Can things go wrong? Yes.
Will it suck if it does? Yes.
But you're asking the wrong questions. The better question is...
Will I live a happier life on average if I get married and have kids? Yes.
Over 60% of current marriages are projected to go until death, and those in that cohort will be significantly happier on average.
A wife and kids is a noble goal to strive for, that will make your life and the lives of those around you better. Don't fall for the fear mongering of "what if", look at the averages.
